My name is Álvaro del Pino Gómez. I am an Assistant Professor based in Universiteit Utrecht, The Netherlands. I am part of the Utrecht Geometry Centre (roughly, the pure math section of our department). I enjoy using techniques from Differential Topology to study geometric structures.

Before coming to the Netherlands I was part of ICMAT (Madrid, Spain). I earned my PhD there, under the supervision of Francisco Presas, in June 2017.

I first came to Utrecht as a postdoc within the NWO Vici project of Marius Crainic. In Fall 2018 I was awarded an NWO Veni fellowship. In 2022 I was one of the recipients of the Lichnerowicz prize in Poisson Geometry. Since January 2024 I am funded by an NWO Vidi project.

At the moment I am a member of the board of the Utrecht Geometry Centre, and a member of the board of the Dutch Mathematical Society.
